Established in 1985, Mercantile Office Systems is the premier computer company in Nepal. For 4 years prior to its establishment, it operated as the computer division of Mercantile Traders. It is the sole distributor for Nepal for IBM, Acer, Epson, Gandalf, APC, Cisco, Lucent Technologies, Reuters (financial services), Hutchison Corporate Access, Fidelio, and other well-known companies. It is the largest and most reputed computer company in Nepal. It has a large software development group specializing in business and banking applications. Many local and joint venture banks are using its "Pumori" and "Pumori Plus" on-line multi-currency total banking packages. It also provides the world famous Reuter’s news and financial services. It has around 120 staff members.
